Gorgeous George

Yesterday we ended up having to put down the mare with the dislocated shoulder. She colicked and basically what a horse eats must come out the back end. We couldn’t walk her like you’d normally do with a horse in her predicament, since she obviously couldn’t walk. Now that she’s gone, we’re left with her 6 week old colt, who we affectionately call George. Here are some photos of him. He’s a smart little cookie, he’s cute and he’s going to be a LOT of fun to have around.

could he be any more gorgeous than he is? I think not!

will you be ablet to find him a surrogate?

I do believe that he could not be more gorgeous for sure.

And had this happened a week or so ago, we have 3 mares that are dry from having lost their babies in that hail storm- but they’re not producing milk any more. It’s also exceptionally hard to graft a baby on to another mare (so I’ve been told).
