A Cow. In the Yard.

Last week, before we left for Texas, I looked out the window of the dining room, to check on my chickens and found this:

She is happily grazing away. When we weaned the calves a couple weeks ago, the mamas often go looking for them. This is one of them.

When we arrived back from Texas, there were three cows out- this one, a first calf heifer, and another cow. They’d all three been in the yard too, as there were gifts left for us. Everywhere. I love life on the ranch!

  1. I love it! I often look out my window and find one small pony, who can go under the fence in a couple spots, one menacing mule, who knows where or how she escapes and one lone rooster who has been banished from the flock in my yard. I will get some pics to share.

The husband went out yesterday morning and our weanlings had busted down the fence! Diesel helped him chase them back into the pen. I can only imagine what that looked like!
