If you came here today looking for a confession, you won’t get one. I’m in Vegas for the Legacy of Legends event and I’m unapologetic about NOT weighing in!
I do have this to report, though:
Saturday (1/26) the weather finally cooperated and I was able to spend my day horseback.
I’m sure this makes me sound like a fair-weather cowgirl, but frankly the idea of riding outside when I don’t HAVE to and it’s a -26 with the wind chill, simply doesn’t appeal to me, and I’m certain Dino, Dolce, Avie, Gump, Nukie, Nora and the rest, are all glad it doesn’t! I rode Avie and Dino and did some groundwork with Festus. I burnt (according to my calorie calculator) about 450 calories for all of that. THAT, my friends, and cheerleaders is what my body has been missing! I probably haven’t been horseback for two weeks, and prior to that it had been a good 6 weeks simply because of The Holidays, the weather, and Wayne’s death. Not only does it do my heart and soul good, but it does my body good too!
Monday it snowed and I skied for the first time in a couple weeks! Made myself a loop and went for 25 minutes. I can tell I’m getting stronger from the UFC workouts because my muscles weren’t sore from that 25 minutes. My heart, however was really working. It was great. I aslo did 3 sets of 25-30 crunches, v-ups, and obliques as well as 3 sets of 15 pushups (some on the toes, some girl style).
Tuesday I broke out the XC Skis again and did 50 minutes.
Wednesday and Thursday were travel days, but I found time for crunches, lunges, squats, pushups and mountain climbers.
I weighed in at the first of this week (Monday) instead of the last (today), since I knew I wasn’t going to be home, and I wanted to do it while I have time (we left for Vegas on Wednesday).
Here’s what I got for you:
Weight 1/6 – 144.6lbs
Weight 1/28 – 140.4lbs
Tuesday I took my other measurements (but no tape yet guys):
Fat = 37.7% | Last week it was 40.7%
Visceral Fat = 6% | Last week it was 7% (the crunches are paying off!)
BMI = 26.6 | No change
Muscle = 27.2% | Last week 25.1%
After all my whining around last week, sounding like I was making excuses (Thank you Suzie for giving me the “what for” – and btw- I only had one cheat meal- a bowl of cereal on Monday this week), I’m almost down to under 140lbs. I’m sure by the time I weigh in next week, I will be! And I’m that much closer to looking like the girl in the photo from today- only 10 years older!
Know that while I am in Vegas, I’ll be doing crunches, leg lifts, v-ups, pushups, mountain climbers, squats, lunges, jumping jacks and may even hit the treadmill at the gym while I’m there. There will be healthy seafood consumed, in what I hope are copious amounts. Let’s be honest, South Dakota isn’t a seafood utopia. Beef is the meat of choice here.
If time permits there may be a photo or two from the event posted here, but follow along on my Facebook Page or at Instagram if you want to stay in touch.
