Pheasant Feather Earrings

I’m live from the Lone Star State this morning, and I figured since I’m having Christmas with my family this week, I’d share a great gift idea. However, I think you’re going to want to keep these for yourself!

I put these together the other day. In fact, these are the second pair. The first pair, I only photographed with my iPhone, and in a matter of moments, they were sold. I kid you not. The girl didn’t even know yet how much they’d cost!

So from that pair, I sold another, and well, I figure I have a couple weeks before Christmas sets in so I can make a few more pairs. This is your chance to pre-order them!

Now, not every pair will be the same, obviously, because feathers are all different, but these will be nearly 8″ in length. If you’d like them shorter, or with more layers, let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

I think they’re different, and pretty. Two things every fashionista wants!

Horseshoes, Anyone?

It seems like the past month has been the month of contests! I don’t know about y’all but I think it’s fun!

This week, just in time to jump-start your Christmas/Holiday Shopping, I’ve got something very bejeweled, that’s a great way to recycle and it was made special for us!

Natalie from NatInDesign created a beautiful bejeweled horseshoe! It’s rustic, kitschy and covered with copper wire, and stones in pink, and brown.

Pinks and browns! oH mY!

Look at all the detail!

Can’t you just see these hanging over a door, or better yet, an entire wall of them?

Lots of color and detail!

She takes custom orders; and at a base price of $30, who wouldn’t want to put these ALL OVER their home, home office, or tack room?

Close-Up

Wedding Jewelry

I know I’m weeks behind. But better late than never, right?

I figured that it was time I showed you some close ups of the jewelry that I custom designed for a wedding! After all, I am available to do these sorts of things. It’s one of my many talents!

The bride was wearing an ivory-colored dress. Here’s the bride’s creation:

It has white turquoise, jade, freshwater pearls, and Czech glass beads as well as lots of Swarovski crystals in various colors and sizes.

And of course we had to make matching earrings!

The little flower girls wore some very sassy and bright necklaces made just for them out of polished stones:

I used a magnet clasp on theirs so that if they got to tugging on them they wouldn’t break, they’d simply come apart! I have moments of being clever, I tell you!

The bridesmaids wore lovely, turquoise creations made from polished stones, glass beads, Swarovski crystals in turquoise and green, as well as a darker turquoise, metallic, handmade Czech stone.

True to my style, none of them were the same, though there was a recurring theme, with the dark, handmade beads.

I love the different sizes and textures and feel of each stone.

The bride had a flower theme going, so I figured there is no better time to use flower clasps than for her wedding!

Jewelry, Glorious Jewelry!

You may have noticed, or not, that I’ve not posted a lot of new jewelry designs. To be honest, it’s because I can’t make them fast enough to even keep them in stock.  Which is a good thing, mind you. I hope to get the entire jewelry store re-worked this week, and maybe, just maybe I’ll see if I can’t make them easier to buy (like it’s hard now- contact me via Facebook or email, with the name of the necklace you want,  the email address associated with your PayPal Account, and voila- the piece belongs to you). Or if you’re my friend Sharon, you say, “I want this”, and then when she sees me in town, she gets the necklace(s) handed to her and I get paid. By the way, my necklaces are apparently lucky, because roomer has it that she typically wins big at the casino when she’s donning on of my creations. I’m just sayin’!

For instance- this creation didn’t even make it to my Facebook Page, let alone to the shop before it was sold. I posted a photo, from my phone no less, on Twitter, and 5 minutes later, this stunning beauty was gone! I can’t say I blame anyone for wanting it. It’s got silver rings from a shop in Turkey and well, look- it’s just cool!

And then there’s this one- it lasted a while longer, because I didn’t list it at first. I created this one for myself- to wear to a pageant that my Cowboy’s Daughter was competing in. It was a perfect compliment to the blouse that i wore. But the moment I snapped a photo- it was snatched up!

Same with this one. I created it to go with a couple new purple shirts I purchased, and only got to wear it once.

This beauty didn’t even make it a day on my Facebook site.

It’s also got silver from Turkey. As much as I love those pieces I purchased from that silversmith, it took almost 2 and half months to get here!

Same with this piece- it lasted all of about an hour!

It’s a longer number- around 28″, so if you like longer jewelry, let me know. You’ll see an amazing creation of mine here shortly, that is if I haven’t got you bored to tears.

Lucky for all of you- this piece is still for sale!

Which utterly shocks me. I guess maybe it’s the $90 price tag? But where else are you going to find something that’s just so awesome as this? It’s got nearly every color you could imagine, and crosses galore. Not to mention “bling”!

If your’e interested, this piece is called “Color Me Cross”.

It has a cool magnet clasp. I’m going to be ordering some more of these, because I find them fascinating, and of course, blingy!

And of course if no one wants to buy this one from me, it won’t hurt my feelings to wear it to barrel races all summer. It’ll look adorable with my straw hat, and white long-sleeved shirts!

This rustic, beautiful cross didn’t last long either. About as long as the other long-cross necklace from above.

I have decided I love copper. And I think I should do more things in copper. Copper and turquoise. What would NOT be to love about that?

Here we have two pieces that I just put together this weekend. They’d look fab if you wore them together, or if you wore them separately! Both are longer than most but not as long as the stunning number coming up!

This one is called Double Trouble and is available for $65.

It has really cool, sterling silver tube beads in it.

And if these pictures aren’t great, it’s because it was about a -10 when I was taking them.

This is the longer, layering piece to go with the one above. It’s called “The Wild Side” and is priced at $75.

Yes, it has snow on it. But it won’t if you purchase it!

As with most all of my pieces, other than the magnet clasps, there’s handmade argentinium silver hook and eye clasps.

And then there’s this masterpiece. I made it for my friend Suzie over at Urban Country Style. If you’ve not been over there to say hi, you should totally go! She’s bright, has amazing taste, and is otherwise fun! And like she says, after seeing this, “Diamonds are so, 2010.”

It is two necklaces- the one with the cross hangs to the navel. The second isn’t quite that long, but they can be worn together or apart.

I will secretly admit that I hoped she didn’t like this piece. Though I knew there was no way that was possible. I thought to myself, “why do I never get to wear any cool stuff like this?” See above if you’ve already forgotten that everyone wants to purchase them!

Honestly, the photos, just don’t do it justice.

Happy Monday, and Happy Trails!

XO

Make

Today, I’m coming to you live from Las Vegas so my blogging might be scarce this week. But I’ll try to do the best I can to keep up.

Today’s Reverb10 prompt says: What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?

I can show you exactly what the last thing was that I made:

And I can tell you exactly what materials I used:

Turquoise stones, howlite stones, swarovski crystals, sterling silver and Argentinium Silver.

There’s plenty more that I would like to make and learn to make, and this coming year I hope to expand my jewelry creations to include belts as well.

And in case you’re wondering the necklace shown above will be released for sale on December 12th, 2010.

Don’t Blink

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/thesouth/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/lib/OX/Ad.php on line 168

I have been so busy selling and making jewelry the past couple weeks that it’s been all I can do to get them on my site, let alone keep them in stock, as someone usually snatches them up as soon as they make it to Facebook. So I thought, that in case you haven’t been by my jewelry shop, I’d show you what you’ve been missing.

Don’t forget to stop by the shop often! I’m currently sold out of all pieces save for the skulls.

Fall Jewelry Designs

In case you’ve missed it, the Jewelry Shop has been updated and re-done to hopefully make shopping here on the site easier!

And to kick off the party, I’ve got some new pieces created that I can’t wait to share, that I think some of you are going to HAVE to have! In fact, one of them was barely posted to Facebook for 12 hours and sold! So these pieces hotter than a sidewalk in Texas on the 4th of July; get yours now!

Orange Lust

Color Me Fall

I had trouble capturing the beautiful olive greens and autumn oranges of this piece. It features a removeable cross and orange glass beads as well. It would work well with a chunky green sweater, denim or a brown or orange burn-out shirt.

Simple Camo

I love this piece. It’s simple, it’s elegant and could be worn with a lot of different things. I think a simple brown tee and some camo pants would make this piece a statement!

You can purchase any of these pieces here. Happy Shopping!
