All the Good

August 3, 2009 by Shauna 1 Comment

I promised a post on all the good stuff that has happened last week and I’ve shared some of it already- a gathered up, soft horse that gave me a correct, beautiful lead change when I asked for it.

But what I haven’t shared about is rides 2, 3 and 4 on Gump’s little brother, DX Jurassic Classic (Dino). I put ride two on him last Wednesday, ride 3 on him Friday and then yesterday we had ride 4. Zach helped me move him out on ride 2. We rode in the big outdoor round-pen, and we had a lot more life and a lot more moving out than we had in ride one. By ride three, we were really moving out with a good cowboy walk, and yesterday, we finally advanced to tying the halter rope to both sides of the halter which gives us the feel of a bosal…and…wait for it…we trotted. He really is doing well, and today I hope to have some new video of him. He is so comfortable to ride and really feels good under me. I love him. I get more confident with every ride and Zach says that it is showing through him as well. I think that I’ll be ready to start some more colts this week, because of how well things are going with Dino. And here, honestly, the horses are so gentle that we don’t really have to worry about them being broncy.

With all that said, I will share with you a clip from the video of ride numbe one. Zach is filming and Kelsey is running around, and the dialogue is really funny.

Spread the Love!
