The house is nearly all painted now! Zach and his brother were busy beavers while I was down and out with the flu. It’s amazing what a power roller will do for a man who otherwise hates painting! Tools. They are a man’s best friend; or maybe a girl’s best friend? Either way, that thing is awesome.
Here are a few of the before and during shots. The living room was mauve and dusty pale pink before, as was the hallway. The kitchen and dining room were just white. Plain, bright, white. Makes me stressful, too much white I tell ya! It is now red. I’ve always wanted a red kitchen! One bedroom was Yellow. Bright canary sort of yellow. I like yellow, but this was much too bright for me. Besides I’ve always wanted a green bedroom, so green was what I got! Whoo hoo! So let’s get started seeing these transformations!

The two peachy cream colored walls are going to have glaze applied to them (I hope to have at least one of them completed today). The glaze is tinted the same color of red (actually it’s Eddie Bauer Sienna, for you paint freaks!) as the back wall in the living room (the one with the single window). Zach is planning a massive built-in on that wall to include a computer desk, floor to ceiling shelves and we’re putting in an electric fireplace, because I LOVE having a mantle. It just doesn’t feel like *home* without one!
So as not to bore you futher, stay tuned for more photos of the renovation! I’m off to glaze a wall or two!

Thanks for stopping by Random Stone. It is always nice to hear from you. I was stationed in South Dakota in the 70’s and I may have told you that already. I do love that state and the Lakota people have a lot to offer in the way of knowledge. I never saw the northern lights while I was there but then again I wasn’t looking for them. The most impressive I have ever seen were actually in N.E. Washington. Your house looks great and the colors that you picked reflect my taste as well. Hope the flu finds its way out of there. I look forward to reading more about your adventures in the Dakotas. And don’t forget to stop by and have the best Indian taco at Woodenkife’s.

Sorry to hear you were sick, I hope you are on the mend!
Paint can do so much to a room! It’s amazing.
It looks like you had a fun holiday with your family and your 94 yr.-old grandma is a cutie!! The stories one must have at that age…I hope I look as good as her if I make it, LOL!
