Christmas! Already!!!

October 27, 2009 by admin 4 Comments

I am a complete. Freak. About. Christmas.

I love it.
I adore it.
I love Peace on Earth.
I love the joy.
The lights.
The glitter.
The presents.
The NFR- which happens in Vegas every year (for you non-rodeo fans). In December. As an aside, if you’re into western home decor, handmade tack, leather furnishings, etc. there is NO. Place. ON. Earth. Like Cowboy Christmas in Vegas. None.

I will put my tree up as soon after Thanksgiving as I can.
I prefer a fresh tree to a fake one. Though I’m considering an artificial tree since I am not always around at Christmas to water the fresh one. But you cannot, let me repeat, cannot mimic the smell of a fresh tree, try as you may. Unless one of you crafty women out there has figured out how to do so. In which case YOU MUST SHARE!

I am such a freak about it that I will go so far as to rearrange my pictures or even put them away to make room for Christmas decorations. Someday, I plan to have Christmas bedding for the guest room and the Master. Ahhhhhh…

Christmas.

I say all this to share with you what my tree looked like last year. And to show you what I’m craving for it (and the house)- this year. And I have a freshly decorated house to go with!

And this year, I found some super cute stuff to add to the tree- and this is BEFORE Vegas. At Kohls, no less. That store, while a lower-end department store has some cute western Christmas Ornaments.

I’ll make a pretty bow out of the bandana ribbon. It will get to grace the top of the tree.

These pretty stocking holders will go somewhere. I haven’t got a mantel (yet) upon which to place them.

And I have no idea where I’m putting this- either in garlands around the windows/doors or on the tree proper. I just thought it was really pretty!

What are y’all craving for Christmas this year?

Spread the Love!

DYI- My dad would drill a hole in the middle of the base of the tree, steal a tampon and stick it in the hole. Add water to the tree…and the tampon holds extra water, that way you can leave for a day or two and not worry about watering the tree!
