Sometimes in the life we lead, we end up with a calf or two or three who for whatever reason can’t nurse their mamas. Maybe mama died giving birth, maybe she won’t accept them, maybe she doesn’t produce enough milk etc. There are any number of reasons. So in order to feed that baby, we become mama. We give them bottles several times a day, and they in turn become really friendly and are pretty sure you’re their mama. We didn’t have any bottle babies in 2009, but in 2008 we had two.
