Saying Goodbye To Christmas

January 3, 2014 by ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~ Leave a Comment

I don’t know if Santa was good to you this year or not, but he was sure good to me!

Christmas

Christmas by jenn-zeller featuring Cuisinart

Sorel boots / SOREL equestrian boots / AE Fair Isle Sweater / AE Fair Isle Shawl Sweater / Cuisinart dinnerware / Isokinetics Balance/Exercise Ball Chair / Fifty Shades Of Hay Nightshirt – Gifts, Clothing, Jewelry, Home Decor… / Amazon.com: Disney Mickey Mouse Womens Fall / Winter Fleece Pajama… / Cuisinart GR-150 Griddler Deluxe, Brushed Stainless : Amazon.com :… / Amazon.com: Disney Lux Women’s Microfleece Lounge Pant, Mickey…

1/2. I made quite a fuss when I posted the Sorel Riding boot on my Facebook page. I cannot lie. I am beyond excited about them. I currently only own the ones with the gray tops, but am strongly considering purchasing another pair (2). They’re warm, sleek, and the best part (which is one of the reasons I bought them) is that I can wear them to town with skinny jeans, or to ride my horses in. Combined with some smart wool socks, you are ready to go for winter!

3/4. My cowboy gave me both pairs (3) and (4) of fleece PJ pants for Christmas. The white ones are probably the warmest, softest thing I’ve ever worn, and the red/black ones, have pockets. Who doesn’t love pockets in lounge pants?

5. My niece gifted me with the “50 Shades of Hay” nightshirt. How cute!

6. I had put the Cuisinart Griller on our Amazon.com Wishlist. And lo and behold, Santa, er um, the Cowboy, brought it to me. I don’t have the waffle iron plates, as I have a Cuisinart waffle iron, but I’m considering getting them, and then donating my waffle iron to someone who needs one!

7. I didn’t put a balance ball chair on my Christmas List but Zach decided I needed one anyway! I LOVE it. It’s so comfortable, and unlike my previous, clunky office chair, this one actually fits under my desk, which makes my messy office seem decidedly less messy, somehow. And it gives me more floorspace in the 9×10 room. Speaking of, who decided that was the minimum size needed for a bedroom? Seriously.

8. I purchased two men’s sweaters the same day I bought the Sorel Boots (when I was supposed to be Christmas Shopping for everyone else). I have found that it’s much harder for me to layer under women’s sweaters (at least until I lose another 15 pounds). These were the type of sweaters I was looking for. I love American Eagle. They’re both a cotton/acrylic/rabbit fur blend. I’m not a fan of acrylic, but I have to say, these are both really warm when layered over a denim shirt and long sleeved tee or long john shirt.

What’s not pictured are a few things that I think warrant their own post (plus Lowe’s gift cards from my family!). Who doesn’t love a Lowe’s card?

Was Christmas good to you? I’d love to hear about your favorite gift!

Happy Trails and Happy New Year!

Spread the Love!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.
