Sunshine and Clarification

September 15, 2008 by Shauna Leave a Comment

First, I must say- today the weather was absolutely beautiful and the day was just lovely. I rode Gump and worked him through the barrels, and then decided to work on teaching him to jump over them. Lots of fun to be had there. I adore that horse (just nearly as much as I love my Shuttlebug). He’s working really nice, and we’ll be taking him to make his first open run at a 5D next weekend.

Second, two thumbs up to all my girls out there that are quick to come to my defense!! Y’all have probably noticed that the blog posts are fewer and farther between, and I think that has a lot to do with me not having as much time since I’m busy from sun-up to sun-down and also because, for the most part, I’m blissfully happy. So you don’t hear about all the good things that go on up here- though I think I did write about the help with hauling square bales (NO ONE really likes to haul square bales, do they?), but you didn’t hear about the second cutting of alfalfa Zach’s brother, Bud, put up (and, btw, who knew, before I got here, that alfalfa is a bitch to cut and put up?) with nary a word, and Bud doesn’t like alfalfa. You haven’t heard that I’m not interested in changing anyone’s minds when it come to politics (though I love you Jill, for wanting to do that) because here, we’re going to have to agree to disagree and I’m fine with that. I don’t feel like I need to be defended, as I’m not being attacked.

I realize that you girls know that I’m not good at sticking up for myself, and as I thought about it today, I realized that I’ve surrounded myself with friends that are good at that. Zach says that if I just make my mind up to be fast on my feet, I can learn to be that way. Maybe he’s right; maybe not. I suppose the only way I’ll ever find out is to try.

And I’ve gotta give props to BLW this week (Jill’s great husband), seeing as how he said something that was, for whatever reason, profound to me: If you can be summed up in one word, you’re too simple.

God knows, there’s nothing simple about me.

I’ll have photos of the view from our deck in the next day or two.

Spread the Love!
