What a Happy DAY!

October 3, 2008 by Shauna 6 Comments

Today is my birthday.

It started out badly- I woke up cranky, as I’d not slept that much, and I was short on time since the neighbor was shipping calves (which requires us to be horseback). I pulled a Stephanie Plum and simply plastered my eyelashes with mascara and I was ready to face the day.

Zach went to catch horses, while I fed Shuttle and her crew.

I headed out to catch a horse, and Zach hands me Gump and says, Happy Birthday! I’m thinking, wow, thanks for catching the horse I was going to ride this morning (he can be a bit hard to catch), and he says, “He’s yours!” I nearly cried. Ok. So I did get teary. I mean, that’s the best birthday gift ever! It wasn’t like I wasn’t going to get to ride him anyway, but now I can say he’s mine, and treat him extra special.

By 9:30 am I was covered in cow dookie. But I had a great time. I don’t know what the afternoon will hold but I know I’m gonna go ride some more colts and help build a barn door.

Oh, and for those of you wondering how old I am, I’m 31.

Spread the Love!

I especially love the pics… what a beautiful place…sometimes forlorn and sad…sometimes quiet and peaceful…always lovely.
