The December 10th prompt for Reverb10 is Wisdom. They ask-
What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out?

That is a tough one- because I can’t recall one simple decision. There were plenty. But there are two that stand out off the top of my head.

1. Going to ride with Buck Brannaman.

That was probably the smartest thing I’ve done since, well, since moving to South Dakota! I learned a lot about myself, more about my horses, and gained some much needed confidence! I feel like I not only grew as a horseman, but as a person as well.

2. Pursuing other loves.

I have been encouraged, if not gently shoved, by the man in my life to do the things that make put the errrrr in my happier. Photography and jewelry design. He doesn’t care if the house is falling down around us, if I’m happily working away on a project. He encourages me in more ways than he knows, and I hope that I wisely listen and don’t take his love and encouragement for granted. I’m attempting things that in my wildest dreams I would not have imagined doing, yet I’m having the time of my life doing them.

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.
