As I type this, it’s raining, it’s pouring, I wish I were snoring. I’ve been on heifer duty the past week, which, of course I love. But I’m dragging tail. I was out of my thyroid meds last week, so in addition to not getting but 4-6 hours of sleep each night, I was legitly out of something that makes me feel much better!
I have yet to get out and do chores, and of course, our good luck lasted for too long. What do I mean? I mean, we have two Polaris Rangers; one of which has doors and a roof, one of which has neither. It’s been about 4 months, and they’ve both been running. That’s longer than ever before I think. Well, yesterday a belt broke on the one with the roof and doors. So I’m down to driving a 1 ton dually pickup through muddy gumbo, or a ranger with no cover, in a tsunami of rain. I’m putting off chores. I shall not tell a lie.
We’ve a heifer that needs a shot of LA 200 for a sore foot, I need to take care of my chicks, feed chickens and gather eggs. Oh, and if you want another glimpse into my daily life, be sure to follow me on snapchat @thesdcowgirl. I guess snapchat is the “new” thing. I know I forget to use it sometimes but when I do, you will get to see lots of fun stuff that happens around the ranch that isn’t necessarily photo worthy — my many DIY projects, how I’m decorating the new house we are finishing building and of course horses and calves.
In other news, I’m going to be featured in an awesome, new, online photojournalist publication called Intersection Journal. Their photographer came out and spent last Friday with me, and she’ll be back a couple times before the story airs. Kristina Barker is pretty awesome, so check her out. She’s in Rapid, if you need a photographer out that way!
I have an awesome giveaway coming up, so stay tuned for that. It’s all about hair care, and what I’ve got is something every woman with long hair needs!
I hope your Wednesday and the rest of your week is pretty dang awesome.
Happy Trails!

I hear ya! Rain has been a God send here. It has saved many old cows from being sold due to lack of grass. I also am procrastinating this morning. Hubby went to go tag and feed, so TC and I are getting caught up on house chores before we head out and tackle our chores in the mud. Even though its broke down, I envy the fact you have doors on your ranger. I have roof but no doors.

Oh, I never complain about the rain! I’m just saying it’s messy! I’m always glad for rain because it means we can make hay, and have grass to feed the girls! I think we are going to put doors and a roof on the other ranger too.
