Appreciation

December 14, 2010 by ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~ 5 Comments

As I’m attempting to get caught up from my Vegas Trip I figured I should start on today’s Reverb 10 Prompt and work backward seeing as how I have a LOT to do, when it comes to writing as well as cooking, cleaning and decorating!

Today’s is all about appreciation. What’s the one thing you have come to appreciate most in the past year? How do you express gratitude for it?

I am certain there’s more than one thing that I have come to appreciate in this past year- my cowboy, the fact that I am able to get up and do what I want to do daily, how lucky I am to live where I get to live but most of all, I appreciate the fact that I am finally, once again, surrounded by people who want the best for me. Who support me in any endeavor I desire to pursue; and who only want me to be happy and successful.

A place like this is the best place for a person to flourish, and if any of the rest of you should take anything away from this it’s that you should ditch the people in your life who try to tear you down; surround yourself with people who believe you have the world by the tail and will fight for you to be successful. Anyone else isn’t necessary for your life- they can hurt you emotionally, physically and spiritually. Trust me. I know from which I speak.

What is one thing you’ve grown to appreciate in 2010? I’d love to know!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.

Oh, how I adore and appreciate this phrase:

    >>>I appreciate the fact that I am finally, once again, surrounded by people who want the best for me. Who support me in any endeavor I desire to pursue; and who only want me to be happy and successful. <<<<

In fact, it makes me glow all over!

I am grateful for your contributions to #Reverb10!

    Woot Woot!

I have so much to appreciate this year. Family and friends. (And I do agree about ditching people who do not appreciate you). I love our farm and animals. And this year I am so proud of my college team who will play in the Rose Bowl! This post might inspire me to make a list for the upcoming year… Glad you had fun in Vegas!

Beautiful post! Being surrounded by people who support you and being able to do what you love every day is amazing and you are incredibly lucky to have both! 🙂
