It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

November 29, 2008 by Shauna 1 Comment

Our Thanksgiving was just wonderful and I hope that the rest of you were blessed with a great holiday too! I began the day by watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, cleaning house, and putting out decorations that don’t require the Christmas Tree. Then it was time to head to the ranch.

Granny, Zach’s mom, cooked a ham, and a turkey (ambitious woman isn’t she) and completed it with all the fixin’s! Gravy, potatoes (which Zach mashed and I added milk to), corn, stuffing, homemade rolls. Yum-O! I brought homemade cheesecake for which I’ll happily share the recipe if you want- 15 minutes and it’s whipped up!), and there was also pumpkin pie and turtle cheesecake and french silk pie.

After we ate ourselves silly, Zach and I braved the lovely weather (it was about 40 here) and went to put out lick tubs for the cows. A lick tub is a protein packed something or other, we’d have to get Zach to fully explain it, but it’s coated in molases and packed in 1/3 of a fifty gallon drum (barrel). The cows love them, and they smell good, though I haven’t tried them myself.

When that chore was done, we went back to the house, and watched the Cowboys beat up on the Seahawks. I almost felt bad for them; it was such an ass whipping. We left at about the end of the 3rd quarter and came home to play Scrabble, where I beat him in game one and he beat me in game two, and I managed to use all my letters not once, but three times in those two games. Apparently, Famined isn’t word though; he didnt’ challenge it or tell me that until yesterday.

I hope everyone else had as great a turkey day as me!

Spread the Love!
