Camera Gear

Camera Gear from Amazon

All of this gear is either gear I currently own, have owned, have used, or have on my wish list.

– Cameras/Gear-

Canon 5D Mark iv. I don’t actually own this camera…yet…it’s on my wish list.

The first Canon DSLR I bought — the 7D. This camera worked well for me for many years, but it is a cropped frame camera, so will not function the same as a full-frame sensor with a wide angle lens attached.

The canon Rebel — this is the best choice for an entry level photographer wishing to learn!

My current workhorse camera, the 5D Mark iii.

Did someone say off-camera flash? Then the 580ex ii is the flash for you. Or at least it’s what I use. I have two of them.

Pocket wizards to make that off-camera flash work good are totally necessary. Mine aren’t this new – but they work pretty much the same as these updated versions!

– Lenses –

My favorite short lens — Canon L Series 16-35MM f/2.8.

The lens I use the most – my 70-200mm f/2.8. This glass is about as good as it gets. If I had to choose only one lens to use for the rest of my life, this would be it.

This isn’t the best quality 50mm (f/1.8), lens on the market, but for portrait photography on a budget is an excellent choice. I wore mine out, and haven’t yet replaced it. There are a lot of pretty images to be captured with this lens.

I think my niece is currently using this 28mm f/2.8, of mine. It was my first foray into the world of wide angle images and I really loved it.

The Canon 24-105L (f/4) series lens is a great mid-range lens. I own this lens but mine is currently for sale as I find that I rarely use it. If I shot a lot of weddings I might use it more.
