My Job Depends on Ag: Contest

February 15, 2016 by ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

When you farm or ranch or even work for a seed company, your job depends on ag.

When you sell or build tractors or other farm / ranch equipment, your job depends on ag.

If you ride pens at a feedlot for a living, your job depends on ag.

If you train horses for a living your job depends on ag.

I think you get the idea.

So goes it for the company that has sponsored this week’s giveaway: Landfill Dzine.   Well, their job depends on ag too.

They began the grassroots effort: My Job Depends on Ag, as a way to show people how large and interwoven the world of agriculture truly is.

I’ve been sent a really cool, blingy-cap, that is made from lay-flat irrigation tubing. And they sent me one to share with you, my lovelies!  I’ve loved wearing it around on these warmer winter days we’ve had. And it’s certainly going to live in my horse trailer this summer come barrel racing season!

This lay-flat tubing cannot be recycled in traditional ways due to how the materials used in it (rubber, poly and nylon) are woven together.

At one time, the material creating this cap, was used to irrigate a California field.

Now, here’s how you enter (enter as many times as you like):

1. You leave a comment/day.

Extra entries:

2. You go visit their website, and tell me that you did so by coming back here letting me know what you think is the coolest product.
3. You can leave a comment, telling me you’ve followed/liked them on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter (tag me in any posts), and leave the link to the follow/mention in the comment.
4. Share the post from my Facebook Page (and make sure it’s not private, so I can verify you did so). Leave a comment letting me know you shared to win!

The contest will begin today and wrap up on Friday at noon!  Winner will be notified via email.

Happy Trails, and Good Luck!

PS: This is part one, of a two part giveaway, so you’re going to want to stay tuned!

Spread the Love!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.

Give your horse or dog, or cat the gift of mobility.

I shared your post; and I went to their site. Those bags are super cute — and if I was an avid wine drinker, their wine carriers are SUPER cute. And, the hat is adorable! Love it! This? This was a good idea on this company’s part.

My job doesn’t depend on Ag anymore…but my life does. From the meat I eat to the veggies I abhor…I’d starve if not for Ag!
I visited their site and I am torn between the flip flops (because this is Texas and I wear the year round) and the throwback to the 1970s Bamboo bag!!

I checked out their website and loved many of their items. My favorite is the: Black Across Bamboo Bag with Fabric Handle. It’s wonderful that they are from recycled materials.
The majority of my life has been dependant on Ag economy. I grew up a farmer’s daughter, my Dad also owned a farm implement dealer and now I’m part owner in that same farm.

Loved their website, what cool stuff. The flip flops are the best. Nothing better after a day in boots! My whole life has depended on ag. First growing up in small town SD and now as a horse trainer married to a large animal vet. Even though we live in an area where the rural heritage is threatened we are raising our children with the same values and way of life!
