Small Biz Spotlight: Jesse’s Jewelz

January 30, 2017 by ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~ 1 Comment

Tell me a little about yourself:

jesse's jewelz owner, jessicaI was born and raised in Texas, I’ve never lived anywhere else and not sure I ever will. I grew up showing livestock and then turned to riding horses and rodeoing. I continue that lifestyle now with my husband where we raise cattle and I try to sneak off to a jackpot when I can. I quite my full time job in the finance industry over 4 years ago to pursue my passion for fashion and haven’t looked back since! I love what I do and love traveling and spreading my love for fashion with others at various shows across the US. I strive to stay original and share my unique style with ladies that love a little western flair and vintage feel. I’d love for you to join my journey as you just never know what I may come up with next 🙂

How did you start your business? What inspired you to do this?

I started making jewelry about 10 years ago. I decided that I wanted jewelry to match more of my outfits so I started out just sitting on my bed in the evenings after work, tinkering and teaching myself. For me it was relaxing and a way to wind down from hectic days in the corporate world. Soon, others started to admire my jewelry and I started sharing it on my Facebook page. It took off from there. I decided to add clothing about 3 years ago and it has been a fun addition!

How do you know Jenn?

Jenn and I met through rodeo queen pageants. We lived close by and I still remember going to her house to try on outfits before an upcoming competition.

Where can interested customers connect with you?
I try to offer several avenues, http://www.facebook.com/jessesjewelz2, http://www.facebook.com/groups/jessesjewelz, @jessesjewelz on Instagram, http://www.jessesjewelz.com.
Where is the best place for customers to shop/purchase your goodies? Do you run an Instagram, Facebook, online store, or combination of all?
I just relaunched my website www.jessesjewelz.com and I am trying to make that a great and easy avenue, also, the Facebook groups are an intimate way to see new arrivals, as well as Instagram.

What’s one of the favorite item in your store? Why?
I am so in love with some of my new graphic tees and dusters, as well as some bright spring colors and spring transitional pieces.
Thanks so much for sharing your love of fashion with us, Jess! I know the pieces I’ve purchased from you, I get countless compliments on!

Now, hurry up and shop, ladies. Take advantage of the awesome discount code she’s providing for us!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.
