White Can go to Hell

December 22, 2007 by Shauna 3 Comments

So I’m about to sound like the bitchy, irritable woman that I currently am.

This house has white vinyl flooring in the kitchen.

1. I hate vinyl. HATE IT! Tile anyone? Mexican Saltillo Tile? Something. Anything other than vinyl.
2. I hate vinyl even more when it’s white. It never looks clean, it’s not shiny anymore, no matter how much I scrub.
3. I hate vinyl because it tears up easily. So not only is it white, but there are all these scratches from knives being dropped or what have you in it, that then turn black and no matter how much cleaning you do…well…

Then we also have white counter-tops. Formica countertops.

1. I hate Formica. Granite, Tile, Corian, Quartz. Anything but white formica.
2. I hate white because again, it never looks clean, and it too is chipped, and nicked and scratched in places and has dark spots in it.

I think I need a beer. Or something.

I’m not normally a complainer. I mean, I really I should be glad I’ve got 1. a house, and 2. a functioning, workable kitchen. But I hate cleaning when it never feels clean after I’m done.

Spread the Love!

My last house had white counters and white tile and that’s never good with pets or kids! I get it!

We have white crappy counters and I hate them also. You are not a complainer – this is just common knowledge – white sucks!

YAY!! What a neat surprise to link to your blog and find another jewel to add to my blog-reading list!

I LOVE horses…my name is Pony! My aunt has 4 horses and a blog but she very rarely posts pics and stories. So I KNOW I will love coming to visit your blog = )

I hate white too…and you’re so right…there is NO WAY to make light-colored, dull vinyl look clean.

But now our house has black granite counters, beige tile backsplash with custom white cabinets. In this case, the white contrast looks GREAT, even though I’m constantly having to wipe them down because of dust, dog hair and my hubby’s dribbled coffee…

In case you’re curious about the connection…we used to live near Roanoke and attend Crossroads Bible Church where I “knew” and prayed for Bonnye in JOY. That’s how I ended up here = )

We live in Houston now. Stop by our blog and visit, if you have time. I don’t have horses… just 3 dogs, 4 cats, a chinchilla and a snake… my furry babies!
