The December 15th Reverb prompt asks: Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010.
Lucky for me I blog. So most of what I’d want to remember about 2010 has been put to paper, so-to-speak. There were definitely highlights, however.
Riding with Buck Brannaman, not once, but twice.
Making a lot of new friends because of that experience.
There was also the day that I let Gump run out after a cow for the first time since he’s been in my string. Seeing as how he’s a reformed run-away it has taken me some time to get him back and thinking about what I want and need from him.
We witnessed the birth of a foal. Which is always a miracle.
There were lots of high school rodeos, which are always fun regardless of how they go.
The Cowboy’s son started his first colt- DX Gorgeous Georges and began to really enjoy riding this year.
The Cowboy’s daughter won, not one, but two crowns this year- one for Junior Miss Cheyenne River and one for Miss Dewey County Snow Queen. She is the energizer bunny- in that she just goes and goes and goes. I have no idea how she does it- pulling a 4.0, riding, working and doing all the other things she does. She excels at everything; and is probably the most mature 17 year old girl I’ve ever had the pleasure to be around.
And we can’t forget that I grew as a person this year- in taking photographs, making jewelry and expanding my horizons thanks to the support of those people in my life.
What things do you not want to forget about 2010?
