Winter is refusing to give up.
Now if you know me at all, you know I like winter. I don’t usually complain about it, because to me, Winter is the time when the world sleeps, refreshing itself to come alive again in the Spring. We all need sleep right? Even the plants and the trees (which we don’t have here), and to me, snow is the earth’s way of bathing itself pure again.
But enough of that business.
Most of the time I have no idea what day of the week it is. But this week Monday was certainly a MONDAY!
We woke up to the septic tank being full. But it’s only full because the drain that comes out of the sand filter is frozen shut. So we had a company come drain the tank. And all was well and good. Until I took a shower Tuesday morning, at which time I heard the toilet bubbling up as I got close to being done.
When the cowboy got home that night I told him about it and he checked it out and discovered that the intake/clean-outs are also now frozen. He tried to snake it but to no avail.
He’s home from work today, and has a nipko running on the pipes right now, to see about thawing them out so he can work on it. But I’m not sure how successful this endeavor will be with this forecast in our future:
In the meantime, no washing dishes, washing clothes, or flushing toilets.
Happy Winter!
