A Horse Box: CONTEST!

May 14, 2013 by ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by this up and coming (and trust me, they’re going places) company.

They’re called, A Horse Box, and it’s seriously one of the most genius ideas I’ve ever encountered. If I were still riding horses full-time, I can see how this would save my tush on countless occasions, not to mention, the ease of use -items that can quickly and easily be tossed into the grooming box in your trailer before an event.

Here’s the idea: it’s a monthly subscription service that provides trial sized items for your use! What’s not to love, seriously?

The cost of the subscription service is ridiculously affordable. I mean for the cost of a nice bottle of wine (or 2-3 cheap table wines) you can try new products for your horse, your tack, and get information too! The cost of the items is double the cost of the subscription so you’re getting a deal!

Boxes come Priority mail and are packaged adorably. There’s hay in them, as well as a few publications for you to peruse, and coupons!

April’s box had handmade horse treats by Southern Swag (which I still haven’t fed because I needed to get them photographed!) that I plan to share with Dino and Gump this week.
There was thrush medication, a little Absorbine show-sheen grab bag, a koozie (who doesn’t love those?), Some Bugg Off made by Cowgirl Creations (I’ve never heard of them and am very exited to try these!), Horse quencher samples (for your horse that doesn’t like water when he travels), Leather Honey (I’ve never tried that either!), a Hoof Care DVD and in this box there was a plastic cup (I think you can’t have too many of those).

Two publications I’ve never heard of (but as busy as I am, are you surprised?) “Horse and Style” and “Equine Wellness” were included:

I don’t know what May’s box will hold, but you can find out!

They’re offering a box to one lucky winner here!

Here’s what you’ll need to do to enter:

1. Leave a comment on this blog, telling me if you’ve heard of this company, or if you haven’t, or what you think of the idea. (1 entry)

2. Go like them on Facebook! (1 entry)

3. Tweet about them on Twitter using the hashtag #ahorsebox (1 entry)

That’s three chances to win!

The contest begins effective immediately, and ends Friday at Midnight CDT.

Happy Trails!

Spread the Love!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.

Give your horse or dog, or cat the gift of mobility.

I haven’t heard of this company; but it is a GREAT idea!! Horse things are usually so expensive that you don’t want to buy a whole jug of something just to find you don’t like it. I love the idea!

I think Horse Boxes are a great idea. I’ve been watching from the sidelines to see what kind of monthly goodies they’d put together, and so far they look good!

I heard of this company just recently and i think this is such a great idea!! All horses have very different personalities so we cant always pay money for something we hope they are going to like. But this way we can try things out before we buy it!

I have heard of A Horse Box and I’d love to try it when I have the extra money! What a great way to try out products in small portions before you buy – and to find out about brand new products! So cool! It would be really great to win one! 😉
