Barrel Horses

November 9, 2007 by admin Leave a Comment

Here’s a great question:

Let’s say for a moment you’ve got a barrel horse that, when there are no mistakes made, will outrun everything on the planet. A world beater, in other words.

But let’s also assume for a moment that every 7 out of 10 times that you run this horse, she runs up the fence with you. No matter how much slow work you do, no matter how much *back to the basics* you do, she still does it. No matter what bit you ride her in; up the fence she goes.

At what point does it not become worth the trouble?
