Some people might not know who I refer to when I refer to Jill, so let me tell you.
She’s everything I’m not (or think I’m not- some folks would disagree). She’s the bet friend a girl could have. Talented, fashionable, girly, spontaneous, witty, creative; can decorate a house with the best of them; train a horse with the best of them, and knows what she wants. She doesn’t lack for opinions and she loves me when I’m feeling fat, crying or being looney.
She ran Paris (Big Red Angel- whom I also started on the barrels) and Beau (Beau Tie N Tails- who belongs to our friend, Robin) at the barrel race and ran a 16.1 on Paris and a 16.0 on Beau. Both horses ran past the first barrel.
Kelsey’s horse, Pommel, is primarily being trained by her, but I occasionally help, and I often get to ride him. I have video coming of this weekend, so when I get it, I’ll post it.
Gump had a terrible run on Saturday- but that made his first ever competition run, and I just didn’t ride him- I was too worried about him being *perfect* (which Jill will attest to). So for the second run, I decided I was going to let him run, and he was nearly 2 seconds faster and just out of the money in the 5D- not bad for his second big run and his third barrel race ever. I am in LOVE with that horse.
I’ve also decided I’m going to post a blog about how I got here, where I am now, in South Dakota, for the folks that aren’t my friends, IRL. Also, Zach and I had a great time at the wedding, and I absolutely adore him. He’s the world’s greatest gentleman, next to my dad of course! Dating him is wonderful and I’m super happy (sorry dad- I knew that was your worst nightmare, seeing as how I have terrible luck with men). In fact, I’m happy *er* than I’ve ever been. He’s got this calming effect on me- sort of like when I’m about to explode over something that’s trivial, he helps me take a step back, take a deep breath and things don’t look so bad.
So all in all, life’s excellent, the BFF is right over my right shoulder typing away on another computer, and we’re waiting on the boys to bring breakfast back. Monday night we had a bad hailstorm that knocked out the back window in my pickup and Jill’s pickup so they had to run to town and take Jill’s truck to get new glass.
There’s nothing like a BFF 🙂
Thank you . . . I feel better now.
You and Jilly are perfect for each other!
Just wish I was there to share some good times with 🙂
She is everything, I am not also…
Calm, level, my rock, the person that keeps me grounded, probably out of jail, only married 3x(& for the last) sane and not selling everything I own when Im mad…
Sweet, trusting, slow to anger and never really flys off the handle… she fakes it!
Paris is one of the best horses most of us will ever swing a leg over…I was luck enough to finally buy (rescue) her from her last owners. She has great foudation and was going really well on the barrels!!! And now that she has a loving home and a owner who can ride her & take care of her, she is getting what Jen put on her, back. I love her and Jen too!!
It may be the hormones, but Jill’s reply made me cry . . .
my verification word this time is
“usonv”
Sounds like an incomplete sentence doesn’t it?
“u son v a . . .”
