I feel like I need a Prozac after reading this. This is such a stressful time. I see his point. Does it stress you out that we, as citizens, are listening to these folks and hoping they will lead us, yet clearly even they don’t know what to do or what is best for our country? It is going to come down to actually doing something instead of theorizing. And then the proof will be in the results that come from what is decided. There is no easy compromise here. The two sides are so far apart. How are we, as voters supposed to contribute to cleaning up this giant mess? When clearly we didn’t know all the information when the war began. It all just so confusing. It is no wonder people don’t vote.
The bottom line on the war on terror is this- If you understand Islam, you understand the need to be strong in the face of those people. Guiliani is right in that they hate our freedom, our democracy, the fact that women have rights. Study Islam, and it will be easier to see what leaders have it together and which ones don’t. There are members on both sides, Dems and Repubs that have it wrong. And on certain levels I’m not ok with Guiliani’s moral compass (having been married three times, having affairs etc), but I think I might have to swallow that, b/c he seems to be right on track with understanding why terrorists hate us and what needs to be done to stop it. The crusades, from what I’ve read were Catholics pushing back against the spread of Islam. This isn’t a new sort of war.
