Happy Thanksgiving

November 27, 2008 by Shauna 3 Comments

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving (my second favorite holiday behind Christmas) I figured it would be good to reminisce over the blessings for the year and tell the world about all the things that I am given to be thankful for.

I was riding Gump today when these thoughts came to me. I was walking down the driveway of the ranch, with a trap full of kick-ass horses and some freshly weaned calves on one side, and a frozen pond/tank/dam on the other side (I’m thinking I might need some ice skates since once it freezes up here, it stays that way until April!). These are in no particular order.

  • I’m thankful I was born in America. More specifically I’m thankful I was born into the awesome family that I have.
  • I’m thankful I was born to realize that the world was mine to do with as I please; that there is nothing I can’t do if I set my mind to it.
  • I’m thankful I was able to go to college.
  • I’m thankful for the life experiences I’ve had through this point in my life, even though some of them were excruciatingly painful.
  • I’m thankful that I “get” to wake up daily and do what I love. I’m surrounded by good horses. And I get to do what I LOVE TO DO everyday!
  • I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by people that enjoy me.
  • I’m thankful I’ve been blessed with countless awesome and wonderful friends that I am very fortunate to have in my life.
  • I’m thankful for Zach and everything he does for me/with me/because he can!
  • I’m thankful for my health.

Now it’s your turn- I tag, Ve, Elle and Bina to spread the Thanksgiving day love.

Have a fun, safe and happy Turkey day!

Spread the Love!

I’m heading to my folks’ house for turkey day so this is easy – I’m thankful:

that my folks are still around and still together after 48 years

that my daughter is happy, healthy and loves college (rather than endures it)

that my sister recently remarried- a really nice, caring man

that I have a stable, good paying job where I don’t have to live there day and night to make it work

that I live 49.2 seconds from my office (I’ve decided that I hate being in the car and think this is the BEST THING EVER!)

that I have great friends who are diverse and I know I don’t always have to make them happy and they will still be my friends (and vice versa.

I like your list better than mine! I SO wish I had your life, but that would be coveting, right? So let’s just say I’m thankful that YOU have your life!

    Okay..

I’m thankful for my children and that God chose me for their mother. They are everyting to me.

I’m thankful that all my children are healthy!

I’m thankful that I have a such a great paying job.

I’m thankful that I was able to buy my own house because of my job.

I’m thankful that I have at least one sister left that I love and that I have my brother. I would do anything for those two.

    I’m thankful that I’m healthy.

I’m thankful that even though I was raised in the most shittyest way any child should be raised, God at least taught me how to NOT be a parent and allowed me to get where I am in life.

I’m thankful for my friends, although I only have a few CLOSE friends,

I’m thankful that I have such a love for animals and realize they are special.
