It’s Officially Fall

September 27, 2009 by Shauna 2 Comments

And technically it has been official since the 22nd of September, however it’s been warm- mid to upper 70s here and really it’s just been almost perfect.

That being said- the wind is howling outside right now as I type this, and the forecast says there isn’t supposed to be a day above 65 this week. I can say it’s official now. When I lived in Texas, there wasn’t fall really. Oh there’d be a blustery day or two, but usually it was still hot. Here, there is little if any hot weather in the fall.

The wind makes it interesting to decide what to do today. I mean, who really wants to ride in it? Our four wheeler is still in the shop- so that means I’d have to ride a horse (probably Nuke) out to bring in the saddle horses (including Gump and Dino). I’m not particularly inclined to ride in it and be wind blown, but we’ll see. I could get Shuttle in, De-worm her, condition her mane, and continue to work on halter breaking the gorgeous prince charming, Bam Bam.

This week has been crazy- or I’ve been lazy (at least when it comes to blogging), one of the two. I’m not sure which one. Friday was Zach and his dad’s birthday, so I spent the better part of the week planning a big party for Zach since this is a mile-stone birthday. Not sure who decided it was a mile-stone, but it is considered that by many. I had planned to have his kids come up for the day on Friday as they were out of school- it was going to be a big surprise, but they ended up with the flu and were told by their doctor, Zach’s older sister, they shouldn’t come over. So that ruined his birthday present. He said it’s the thought that counts. Regardless Kels and I were very disappointed. We helped a relative ship calves on Thursday morning, and there will be plenty more of that to do this fall too.

Other than that not a lot going on here so I may be a quiet, boring blogger for a while, unless something changes. Here’s to hoping everyone has an awesome Sunday!

I can see how riding in howling wind wouldn't be very fun, not to mention all the crap that would blow in your eyes.

It was windy here yesterday and after I mowed the yard, I swear to God I had to peel my contacts of my eyeballs cause they were so freaking dry. That was NOT fun!

Did Zach enjoy his party? What milestone? 30 or 40?
