Jeans, Glorious Jeans!

September 1, 2009 by Shauna 5 Comments

I want a pair of these:

and these:

and these:

But sadly, I’m going to refrain. I’m going to refrain, since today, I tried on 8 pairs of jeans in the store- 5 pairs of my always go to- wonderful fitting Lucky Brand jeans, a pair of (gasp) Lee Jeans (don’t hate girls- they had cute back pockets!), and a pair of Cruel Girl Jeans. All made me look like a beached whale. Ok, so maybe that’s a slight exageration but really. I am not a stick figure. I realize that I would look better if I were, but I’m not. I have thighs. The cutest pairs would have fit in my waist but I couldn’ get them past my love handles.. The others that, were still cute, and would go over my thelma thunder thighs, and were remarkably comfortable but I was swimming in them in the waist. It was an oh so frustrating ordeal. I’m done shopping for jeans until…

Remember last fall I wanted to lose like 15 lbs? I have lost 5. I started running, but after being chased (ok, so it only followed me) by a coyote, I kinda of decided that running in the wild wasn’t really for me, but I kept it up, and got into the swing of things, and then Old Man Winter took over.

This summer my folks brought me my mountain bike and wind-trainer. It had two flat tires, but two weeks ago I finally got around to replacing the tubes and I’ve been riding it from our house down to the barn- which is about a third of a mile. Somedays I’ve ridden it back and forth several times, somedays, just once up and once back. I really need to get it on the wind-trainer so I can sit on it at night, when I’m hanging out with Zach.
I guess what I’m saying is, that the bike will be placed on the wind-trainer tomorrow. Tonight I’m going to spend wallowing in the fact that I cannot go buy jeans because I hate the way I look in them…

Spread the Love!

I'm a jean addict! I love them! 🙂 Luckily I had a g.c. last spring and bought a really expensive pair, I just paid for the hemming. That is great you are riding the mountain bike to the barn. What is a wind-trainer?

    PG-

A wind trainer is a piece of equipment upon which you can set the back tire of the bike and pedal on a regular bike, while keeping it stationary. Because the wind trainer allows that back tire to move. My wind trainer actually has resistance settings too, so not only can I create resistance by changing gears on the bike, but I can also change resistance on the wind trainer as I get (hopefully) in better shape.

    CFG-

Maybe that is my problem. I'm horseback everyday too!

I am the same way…I have really big hips and thighs so the waist always is too big. Annoying.

I LOVE that last pair. What kind are they?

Yea, I used to be able to wear a 4 or 5 depending on the jeans. Now I guess I'm between and 6, 7 or 8. I bought a pair of 8 Vera Wangs and they were too big. I bought a size 6 and the butt is great but the waist is still too big. I have a pair of 8 somethings and the waist is too tight. It really pisses me off sometimes.
