I spent my afternoon riding, plus I got to hang out with some cool kids.
I rode a beautiful yellow horse, a handsome chestnut gelding, with crazy winter hair, and the most comfortable horse you’ll ever throw a leg over, our stallion, Banjo. It was an excellent, almost spring-like day – I was down to a long-sleeved shirt with a fleece over top and was almost hot. I was reminded that I weigh less without 5 layers on! There was no wind when I headed out on Dino – (left) at about 1pm. But by 3, it had come up, and now, as I enjoy a dinner, and glass of Apothic Red, it’s howling – I’m sure it’s because Old Man Winter is throwing a tantrum about Spring coming, and he’s insisting he’s not ready to leave. We are expecting snow tonight and tomorrow.
I learned some things today, which I will share in a later post.
But first, some video of today. Burt (The cowboy’s cousin) took his horse, Jack, outside for the first time and here’s a little commentary.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve a date with “From the Ground Up“, and more wine.
Happy Trails!
