Shuttle Then…and Now

March 15, 2008 by Shauna 5 Comments

I accidently found that I have this filly set up nearly the same in two photos taken 6 months apart last year. I love it because you can see how grown up she’s getting. When she sheds out her winter digs from this year, I’ll take another!

Hi fellow Jennifer Bloggers and readers,

I write this to you cause’ I have to set the record straight for my self and my wife.

I write this to you cause’ I enjoy and respect the love you all have for my wife.

I write this to you because I believe in each and every one of your hearts…you want Jennifer to be happy and fulfilled.

I write this to you because you are Jennifer’s friend and ultimately will support her in any decision that she makes.

I write this to you because you should know a little bit more about our love.

With this being said…I would like to quote a book and if you have a little more time……….. a quote from Jennifer’s writing called “John’s Song”. It is truly the most beautiful thing that I have ever read….and I believe you too will feel the same.

Setting the story up…I am Linda and Jennifer is Troy.

    First….The Book…

Linda and Troy’s marriage was miserable. Linda came from an extremely negative family environment where she had endured many unfair hardships growing up. Unfortunately, she dragged her unhappiness and negativism right into her marriage with Troy. If she didn’t get her way, she would pout or throw a tantrum. Sometimes, she would pout for two or three days. Troy was a good man and a good husband, so he did almost anything to keep Linda happy. He was always encouraging her and letting her know that she was going to be ok.

Then it dawned on him that she would never change. He was finally fed up.

Troy boldly went to Linda and said,

“Honey, I Love You, but I realize there is nothing I can do to keep you happy. I have done everything that I can. So I’m just letting you know that I am finished trying.”

You see…Troy’s honest and heartfelt statement stunned Linda, forcing her to look inside herself and deal with the real issues.

That wake up call is true and took place more than twenty years ago, and today their marriage is stronger than ever.

Now a poem written by Jennifer called “John’s Song”….it is the most beautiful thing that i have ever read and venture to say that whom ever reads this will feel the same….it goes as follows…

    To John:

All the days of my life, I
    wish to spend with you.

You are my first thoughts in the morning.
The last, when I go to sleep at night.

I wish to love you; to serve you; to please you; to laugh with you, to cry with you.

I desire to be your best friend; your lover; your temptress; your solid rock.

I desire you with a passion unrivaled.

I desire to be your only
    desire.

    I desire to take care of you;
to start a family with you; to
pray for you and our success.

All the days of my life, I wish to spend with you.

    -Jennifer Abbott

    My thoughts…….Punkin.

That song I write for YOU!

    Your Loving Husband,
    John

I don’t appreciate you posting this on my blog or on any of my other friend’s blogs.

I am well aware that we are getting a divorce Jennifer.

If it makes you sleep better to be rude and ugly to me than please do.

No one says that marriage is easy. It takes work. Running is the easy road out. I will continue to pray for you, me and us everyday.

    John
