Spring Contest

Ok folks.

I promised I’d get this done yesterday and then, well, life just got away from me! So here I am! I’ve decided that I had so much fun with the last contest, I’m going to do another one! This one might be even better, because I am going to give away THREE (3) 11×14 prints of your choice from the photos you can see here. And if a photo you’ve seen on the blog isn’t at that site and you want it, just let me know what photo it is and we’ll get ‘er done!

There will be 3 winners total, and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment here (on this post- and I’ll even make it sticky for the week), say hello to me on my Facebook Page, or mention me on Twitter (@thesdcowgirl) using the twitter hashtag #sdcowgirlspring. I am not going to run this contest through Facebook, as they have some rather interesting rules for contests, but if you drop by and write on my wall (To say How MUCH you LOVE me!) beginning today, I will count those entries. And, if you invite your friends to drop by, just tell them to tell me who sent them, and you’ll both get an entry. The person with the most entries is going to get something (I’ve not decided what yet- and I’m open to ideas) so you really have 4 ways to win! Awesome, right? The contest will close at noon on Friday and winners will be announced Monday. I’ve got a busy, busy weekend, folks.

In the meantime, I photographed this cute bird the other day and I’d love to know what kind it is!

About ~The South Dakota Cowgirl~

Jenn Zeller is the creative mind and boss lady behind The South Dakota Cowgirl. She is an aspiring horsewoman, photographer, brilliant social media strategist and lover of all things western.

After a brief career in the investment world to support her horse habit (and satisfy her mother, who told her she had to have a “real” job after graduating college), she finally took the leap and stepped away from a regular income; trading the business suit once and for all for cowgirl boots, a hat, and jeans. She has not looked back.

When Jenn first moved to The DX Ranch on the South Dakota plains, she never imagined she’d find herself behind a camera lens capturing an authentic perspective of ranching, and sharing it with others. Jenn has always been called to artistry, and uses music, writing, images, home improvement, and her first true love of horses to express her ranching passion.

Horses are the constant thread and much of her work centers around using her unique style of writing to share her horsemanship journey with others in publications such as CavvySavvy, the AQHA Ranching Blog, the West River Eagle, the family ranch website, and her own website.

Using photography to illustrate her stories has created other opportunities -- Jenn’s brand “The South Dakota Cowgirl” has grown to the level of social media “Influencer”. This notoriety has led to work with Duluth Trading Company, Budweiser, Wyoming Tourism, Vice, Circle Z Ranch and Art of the Cowgirl, to name a few. She also serves as a brand ambassador for Woodchuck USA, Arenus Equine Health, Triple Crown Feed and Just Strong fitness apparel. Her photography has been featured by Instagram, Apple, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Oprah Magazine. Jenn’s work has been published internationally, has been seen in several books and has graced the covers of several magazines.

Jenn became a social media influencer by accident when she started to explore Instagram as a way to share her life on the ranch with folks that don’t get to experience it. It’s grown into an incredible platform that she uses to empower women, create an environment for self improvement and share life on the ranch.

When she’s not working, she loves to drink coffee, play with her naughty border collie named Copper, start ranch colts, and run about the country chasing cans. Her mother still thinks she doesn’t have a “real” job.

    Have been reading your blog for quite awhile and enjoy your stories and pictures. I grew up on a ranch in North Dakota and am now count myself lucky to be ranching and farming in Montana with my husband.

    Hey girlie!! Another contest? Ooo!! I love the postcards you had in your last one. ; ) Well I think you are just a neat person all around! I look forward to reading your blogs every time you post them. They are always interesting and so diverse! It’s of course a given that I adore your photography skills!! I wish I had the eye that you do for that kind of thing. Each one turns out beautiful and usually tells a story of its own.

    Well, I must give credit where credit is due and thank the darling Jessica Cordes for sending me over here. I ‘liked’ your FB page the last time she recommended I come check you out, but it’s been a busy few weeks and havent made it back in awhile. You do have an absolutely lovely eye for detail. Your photographs are so honest and unpretentious. (I’m in love with Nukem, btw!)
