Who Rules The Roost?

December 21, 2008 by Shauna 2 Comments

Friday night I met up with Jill, her husband BLW, Bethanie and Leslie, and a couple of their friends for Sushi. As a side note, I’ve discovered Hawaian White Tuna. OMG! Yummy!

We then we headed out to the Houston Street Bar and had a blast. The group slowly dwindled until it was just Jill, BLW and I, so we decided to head over to Cadillac’s at Northside in the Stockyards.

Jill and I walked in only to discover Jackie Dube, who we promptly pulled up a chair and BS’d with for about an hour and half. Jill was completely in heaven! She’s agreed to yell at me when I come down for San Antone so I’m super pumped about that. She was very cordial and hugged us both when she left. We closed down the bar, and then headed back to Jill’s. On the way we grabbed Taco Bell, which at 6:30 in the morning decided to disagree with me, and I was down and out for the count the better part of Saturday which sucked, because I was going to meet up with Leslie again, as well as my friend Kat. But alas, I was feeling so bad from that food, that I couldn’t muster up the strength.

Crap. I’ve digressed. Again. I really need to get to the point of this story, which is to say that a few weeks ago, Jill tried to set their house on fire, which in and of itself isn’t funny. However her husband is a fire captain so that makes it ironic and funny both. She managed to burn up the stove and the cabinet above the stove. So her house is in disarray with no furniture in it, save for the master bedroom which is the first room they redid. They still have to repaint and pull off the popcorn ceiling and all sorta other stuff. Anyway, I was put up on the floor in the living room on a kick ass air mattress.

I guess I should say, before I go further, that Jill is just a few critters short of a zoo! There are 5 cats, 3 Daschounds, 1 Austrailian Shepherd, 2 ferrets and 15 head of horses. I awoke at 6:30 to find, 2 Daschounds in bed with me. I don’t mean, laying next to me, I mean, under the covers all snuggled in! Two cats at the foot of the bed, and an Australian Shepherd laying right next to me, taking up the other half of the bed. So I ask you, who is in charge at this house? Clearly, it’s not a human being!

Needless to say, at the very least I was warm and snuggled in with all those critters, but I have never before had that many animals in a bed with me at one time. I think it’s pretty safe to say that the dogs and cats are in charge. Not Jill and BLW.

Spread the Love!
