There’s lots going on here lately.
Yesterday, Avie and I moved cows out of the creek up to a flat where the hired man finished the job and put them across to greener pastures. It was still an 8 mile ride for us, and I probably should have fed myself a better breakfast before I headed out so I wasn’t dying of starvation by 2pm, which is the time I finally made it back to the corral.
He and the view are sure pretty!
This is what he thought of the whole ordeal when we got back to the barn:
Ho hum!
I made it for a run one day this week and I have to say, where I live is pretty peaceful!
I got to see the sunset from East River (at the steakhouse) one night this week too. It was glorious.
And the sunset from my back deck was pretty spectacular too:
For those of you that missed the announcement, I’m headed to Kentucky for almost a whole week! Since I fly out at an insanely early hour tomorrow, I get to head to Rapid City today, so I’m not leaving here in the middle of the night.
Why, prey tell, am I going to Kentucky? I’ll tell you. I’m going to get a GLIMPSE (find us on twitter at #glimpse) of the future of Agriculture, at the Alltech International Symposium. I’ll be Blogging/Facebooking/Instagram(ing) and Tweeting from the event with a press pass. I’m going to get to attend some seminars on the Equine Athlete, and I’m pretty sure most of my readers will be interested in what I learn there! There’s also, going to be a little soiree at The Kentucky Horse Park. I’m seriously getting to check off my bucket list, folks, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve always wanted to see Kentucky and now I not only get to see it, it’s going to be an educational experience to boot!
There’s plenty of blog fodder from the ranch, already scheduled to post next week, so be sure you come visit my little corner of the www next week.
Now, everyone have a great weekend, be kind to one another and have Happy Trails!
That is exciting! You will LOVE the Kentuck Horse Park! Have fun!
