I think it’s time for a giveaway! It’s been a while, and since we’re calving, and don’t have time to share the stories (and there are a few already), this will be the next best thing, right?
A couple weeks ago, I shared this photo on Facebook and everyone loved it. Then I shared it in a ranch-wives group and asked for names. The person who chose the name of the piece, won a 10×10. I loved the name, and so to celebrate, I’m going to give away another signed print – a 10×10 of “Buckskin and Blue”.
Here’s the piece you can win:
I also took a few other photos that day – and I’m considering offering them as a series (an as of yet- un-named series):
All you have to do to win, is leave a comment below letting me know why you come to my little corner of the web, or tell me what you think I should call the series. And you can enter more than once if you have multiple reasons you like to visit or you head over to G+ and follow me there (come back, leave a comment, and let me know you did!). The winner will be chosen at random after voting closes at noon cst, Friday May 2.
I can’t wait to hear from you! And I will ship out of the country!
Happy Trails and Good Luck!
great picture
Love everything you write about and love your photography! Nice to see another ranch wives perspective.
II love the pictures. They are all great.
I come to see a way of life that I think I’d like to live. Except in the winter. The pictures are great.
I come to see your pictures and horses! I’m in love with most of your horses and want to come visit..when it’s warm of course! 😉
Great pictures and stories
A day in the life of Buckskin and Blue
I love the name!!!!! I love coming to your corner of the world, because when I get to heaven this is what I will be doing!
I come here because it’s nice to talk to a fellow cowgirl and your photography is AMAZING.
I love your photography, the beautiful landscape and the contrasts in color you are able to capture. Reminds me of home, the beautiful colors of crop changes, although we had a dairy farm with feeder steers (Holsteins, not Angus)
I just discovered your blog and so enjoyed the first article I read that I thought I’d sign up. Interested in reservation life; appreciate your perspective on it.
A friend of mine turned me on your Facebook page knowing how much my daughter loves horses. She absolutely loves to see all the amazing pictures you post. It would mean so much to her to win one to hang in her bedroom.
I love to experience a different landscape and way of life then what I am used to. Your photos are so peaceful and tranquil to look at.
In the city, but living the ranch life vicariously through you! You capture it so beautifully! I would title it Trail Blazers since they both have perfect blaze faces!
Or Trailing Blazes since they are following you!
I come because you are living the life I wish I lived but never did
I actually get to see these guys for real and very soon. It is a blessing to see horses roaming such an ancient land and the surroundings have barely changed. I come here because you are a friend and I support my friends to the end!! I also come along here cause it helps me keep in touch with that flame that burns inside of me everyday!!
I love looking at your photography and hearing your awesome stories!
Absolutely stunning… ‘Blowin; in the Wind’
Kindred spirits gotta stick together! 😉
I like your pictures! They are beautiful, and they teach people about life ranch.
I also like your stories, and talking about horses, your training courses you go on. I like to learn from you!
I like the name Summer (or what season it was) Walk, or cruise.
I read your blog to be in touch with a very different part of the country from my own, and a different way of life, and you sound like a really fun person too! thanks –
I love looking at your pics they bring a smile and peace to me every time no matter what is going on that day I truly appreciate seeing them. Thank you for sharing them with us!!!!
I found your blog by accident..I love it. I also live in South Dakota, and I am very much in love with horses. I hope one day (soon would be nice) to convince my husband to let me have one or two on our farm. I have horses, mules, and donkeys back home in Nebraska! I excited to look through your blog some more!!
Awww!
I’m an East Coaster cowgirl in training and living vicariously through the adventures of Jenn and The Cowboy. As one raised in the Blue Ridge Mtns of Virginia, the landscape of the South Dakota territory is dramatic and peaceful at the same time. I also enjoy learning about the life of ranchers played out by true Natives of this country. Thanks SDC!
Love to hear from other SD ranchers
I come here because of like your photographic perspective on life here in South Dakota….
You’re pictures and photography skills are amazing…I come here to day dream of having a life on a ranch through you’re photos. The world is best viewed through the ears of a horse. X
I grew up in SD but have not lived there for over 30 years. When I look at your beautiful photographs I’m reminded of my wonderful childhood. Wide-open expanses, beautiful color, saturation and contrast, simple but striking content. Keep them coming…
I found you via the FB Buck Brannaman page…I love your commitment to his methods and always sppreciate reading your comments…I also of course love your photography and blogs….I live in Ireland so it brings the amazing country you live in to me with stunning creativity. Thankyou
